Retro Cloak And Dagger Game Nets Double Agent

January 16, 2018 By Conn Williamson

The dying embers from the firestorm of the Cold War infused Kim Philby chess match of international espionage have not yet been completely extinguished by the digital age and battles for electronic databases.

With technology at the brink of dizzying heights, fortunately there still exists some good old fashioned classic spy tactics that transcend the cryptic vaults of the mysterious underworld of secrets and reach the limelight of the mainstream news cycle. Appropriately enough, The New York Times and its “legitimate” staff spies posing as journalists or vise versa, endorses the notion that the 2018 version of the covert Olympics has officially commenced, as an former CIA case worker and possible Chinese mole was arrested by authorities earlier this upon arrival at JFK Airport in New York.

Allegedly, the one time asset of Langley committed the cardinal sin of harboring classified documents containing a virtual rolodex of CIA agents and “contractors”, alerting investigators to a possible crucial and extensive security leak. FBI officials originally uncovered two notepads full of sensitive information from ex-agent Jerry Chun Shing Lee during an intensive investigative probe in 2012. A snapshot of Mr. Lee’s dossier, shows an alias of Zhen Cheng Li and possible direct ties to Chinese intelligence and military agencies, through associates in Hong Kong. Understandably, Lee chose to make a very obvious and desperate and deliberate reentry onto US soil in January, and put himself at the fate of the justice system, rather than face the cruel wrath of capital punishment administered by Beijing. Hint- A five star accommodation overlooking Hong Kong Harbor was probably not the first thing on the minds of his immediate superiors. If found guilty, he faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and more importantly is allowed to keep his head attached to his neck. There is no official word if Lee will endure any of the unique modern methodologies of information extraction, but he gains a temporary respite from the fiery breath of the red dragon.

The epidemic of betrayal masterminded by Chinese double agents and the thievery of top secret information, has resulted in the fatal neutralization of multiple US operations and team members in Asia, a level of espionage not witnessed since the height of the Cold War. As Beijing is still attempting to dissect the mystifying December “Sunglasses Caper”, orchestrated by a trio of UCLA basketball players and channeled through the karmic connection between LaVar Ball and Bill Walton, the rest of the world waits with a looming anticipation as to what new children’s toy setting Amazon on fire from behind the Great Wall, will provide an inkling of Big Brother and 24 hour surveillance by the next Christmas rush.
