The Changing Of The Guard- YouTube Attempts Preserving Relevancy

September 8, 2025 By Kennedy Guse

With the social media streaming market ambushed by the limitless sum of options available to the end-user, the quasi-dinosaurs of the digital platforms devoted in some instances to capturing snippets of life are nearing the extinction cycle of a geological era annihilated by a planet killer comet.

The prodigious social network of YouTube has become the first major player in the interactive world of content sharing in removing the “trending” tab or section that dignifies indignity from its domain and the move is a relative shock to the branding mechanism of digital entities. Over the period of a decade and a half, billions of dollars in revenue were generated from creating manufactured enthusiasm among end-users, by the major social media networks deploying marketing over substance. While the commercial end of the extensive campaigns to place labels on content to influence the audience resulting in lucrative gains, F***book mixed news and “trending” and in doing so crossed the line of the unethical in averting the time-tested methods of what could be loosely described as journalism.

Basically, the empire of Mark Zuckerberg paved the cobblestone street for the commercialization of identity politics through passive aggressive advertising that would be considered passee even in the Liberal bastions of the Left coast. The proposed territory of CalOreShington is responsible for innovations outside the boundaries of electronic innovation that revolves around the degradation of civilization set at an astronomical and diabolical price point. With dissident politicians involved in sowing and growing the polarizing and lucrative commercialization of divisiveness, the insidious propensity to move the Chess pieces of societal engineering endures a resistance that is futile and steeped in the normalization of storylines that transcend conspiracy theorists warping the basic tenets of common knowledge to print encyclopedias pawing the fantasy and the narcissism abundant among flat earthers and the delusion that the lunar landing was conjured fantasy.

With the gravitation away from sensationalism, at least from a domain template, and the integration of artificial intelligence, the elite of the social media arrays are no longer influencing consumers in the decision making mechanism, but erring towards subtlety and nuance to facilitate choice in the absence of free will. While the younger generations are decidedly naive, the pliable demographics are savvy in perfecting the use of software and devices to a point of frightening efficiency on a superficial level and the tech community has responded in offering a pathway to content without the glaring klaxon of neon signs and a roadmap to the definitive and the obvious.

Preference and the subjective has become automated and to satisfy the instant gratification insatiable appetite of future world leaders is a mere afterthought within the framework of popularity and the truancy of the trend.
