NFL Legend Blames Kaepernick Himself for Remaining Unemployed Saying ‘HE DOESN’T WANT TO WORK’

NFL legend Herschel Walker applauded former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick for supporting the Black Lives Matter cause but blamed his unemployment on Kaepernick’s unwillingness to treat the field as a workplace.

During an interview with TMZ, Walker called what Kaepernick was doing “great” and commended him for standing up for the idea that black lives matter. However, he disagreed that the football field was the place for him to promote his cause.

According to ijr.com:

Walker explained he read that owners asked Kaepernick, who remains unsigned, if he would continue to kneel for the national anthem if they hired him and he said he wasn’t sure or that he may.

“That tells you right there that he doesn’t want to work,” he declared. “Right now I think he’s got to remember that you have teams saying, ‘If you do what we ask you to do, you may have a job.’”

He added that Kaepernick doesn’t want to do what the team, which is a company, wants him to do.

“I own a chicken company,” Walker explained. “If the guy that I hire don’t want to do what I ask him to do, why do I hire him? And I think that’s the problem right there, you know.”

The former NFL player added that it’s completely fine that Kaepernick is still advocating for his cause, but encouraged him to go to Congress and push it instead of pushing it at his job.

While he repeatedly praised Kaepernick for doing great things, he disagreed with a comparison of the former quarterback to other great athletes who also fought for racial equality.

“I’ve seen them put him in a slate with Jackie Robinson and Muhammad Ali, which I think is a far reach,” he said. “It’s sad that people would think that.”

Walker called Kaepernick when compared to Robinson and Ali, “two different things” and concluded that if the former quarterback wants to work he’s got to do what his boss tells him to do.”
