Special to Liberty Park Press

Just look at the some of the featured speakers who are coming to Dallas in 25 days for the Second Amendment Foundation’s Gun Rights Policy Conference.

  • United States District Judge Roger T. Benitez (Ret.), SAF’s 2026 Keynote Speaker
  • Robert Cekada, ATF Director
  • Brandon Herrera, “The AK Guy” and political candidate
  • Harmeet Dhillon, Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights

In 2021, after reading Judge Benitez’s 94-page decision in Miller v. Bonta, I wanted to jump up, scream “Murica” and salute the flag.

Rob Cekada is actually fixing the ATF—something no one even thought was possible.

When I interviewed Brandon Herrera, the GOP’s official candidate for Texas’ 23rd Congressional District, I realized he knows more about guns and gun rights than any member of Congress.

AAG Dhillon has never once responded to my calls, emails, texts or tweets, so I look forward to meeting her and explaining that I am not that bad of a guy.

These are only four of the featured speakers who will be at SAF’s 41st Annual Gun Rights Policy Conference, which runs from September 25 to 27 at the Westin Dallas Fort Worth Airport Hotel.

These four featured speakers, plus the others, will make this the best GRPC ever.

The full list of speakers is here, but none are more impressive than Second Amendment Foundation founder and Executive Vice President Alan Gottlieb.

Alan Gottlieb, SAF founder and executive vice president

Mr. Gottlieb is the main reason behind the Second Amendment Foundation’s incredible success. He is the reason that the U.S. Supreme Court recently agreed to hear two SAF cases—Viramontes v. Cook County and Grant v. Higgins, which challenge the prohibitions of many commonly owned rifles, including the AR-15, in Cook County, Ill., and Connecticut.

“Throughout SAF’s more than 50-year history, we have fought to ensure Americans could fully exercise their Second Amendment rights, and we are optimistic this case will be a giant leap forward for the right to keep and bear arms. The ruling in this lawsuit will affect generations of lawful gun owners for years to come, and we are hopeful the Supreme Court will deposit these unconstitutional bans where they belong – in the wastebin of history,” Mr. Gottleib said about the incredible legal work.

The question presented in SAF’s opening brief is simple but powerful: “Whether the Second and Fourteenth Amendments guarantee the right to possess AR-15 platform and similar semiautomatic rifles.”

SAF’s incredible legal work will be thoroughly addressed throughout the conference.

AMM-Con

The 10th annual Alternative Mass Media Conference, or AMM-Con, will be held before the start of the Gun Rights Policy Conference, starting at 9 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 25. It is co-hosted by the Second Amendment Foundation and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

AMM-Con is a gathering of some of the top Second Amendment media members and influencers who provide educational presentations about all things related to our right to keep and bear arms.

For those who are established or aspiring journalists, bloggers, video media personalities, podcasters, or have a general interest in new media, AMM-Con is a must-attend event.

Previously, the event was exclusive to media members only, but the committee recognizes that each of us—through friends, family and social media—can help spread the message.

The National Rifle Association’s Mark Keefe will give the keynote address during the event and discuss melding publications and media to streamline operations.

Additional speakers include Cam Edwards, Mark Smith, William Kirk, Robyn Sandoval, Rich Yumul, Chris Swainhart, Stephen Gutowski and many more.

Featured topics will include:

  • The ethical use of AI and AI tools
  • Rebranding and driving business via your blog
  • Effective use of video, video equipment and podcast growth
  • Reporting from the heart and navigating YouTube
  • Panel discussion featuring Second Amendment advocates/activists on how to utilize media to deliver a positive message

I once said that AMM-Con is “like drinking from a firehose. A master class in guerrilla journalism, all in one day.”

I hope you can make it to both events!

See you in 25 days.
