Righting The Ship? Laura Ingraham Hired At Fox News

September 18, 2017 By Conn Williamson

In a move that rivals a sobering magnitude of damage control, and a statement that the shattered and shimmering remains of the glass ceiling valiantly reflect the hope that future selfie exchanges between co-workers will achieve no higher than a PG rating, the network announced the recycling of talk radio guru Laura Ingraham.

According to Fox News, the polarizing media veteran will inherit prime time real estate and bookend the potent combination of Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson as the network attempts to eradicate the treacherous epidemic of scandals which has blazed through its icons at the expense of millions of dollars in settlements, lost careers, and family tragedies. Ingraham was initially hired by Fox News in 2007 as an anchor.

With ratings noticeably down and following the trend of cable news channels surrendering viewers to social networking platforms and devices, the fall from grace of Bill O’Reilly and the tragedy of the death of ex-business anchor Eric Bolling’s son in the wake of his father’s termination, may mark the beginning of irreconcilable differences with a sustainable audience base. Of course O’Reilly and Bolling were promptly canned after allegations of sexual harassment surfaced from multiple female colleagues.

Ingraham, who hosts a nationally syndicated radio show and operates a conservative think tank website, is a known entity with end users on the right of center. Her interesting background, which includes a degree from ultra-liberal Dartmouth, and a clerk position on Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’s staff, only enhances an engaging and cutthroat style of broadcasting. Behind the scenes, Ingraham is known for a fiery and intense personality, that would deter any sensible fellow male employee from ever entertaining the idea of sending lewd texts or photos to her smart phone. Whether or not having an alpha female on staff will change the tide of stagnant ratings or elevate the sophomoric meat market approach of the culture of the network to an adult level, will be an intriguing side note to the current ideological battle fracturing the nation. Couple that notion with the reality that there are two sides to every story, and no sane man would ever file a complaint to human resources if he were to receive a picture of breasts or a beaver shot (because women would never send an explicit selfie to a co-worker), and cue the circus music of double standards.
