A Run For The Ages- Controversy Strikes At Altitude

November 14, 2025 By Kennedy Guse

The eternal question purifies the minds of those climbing the 15,000 foot base of the Himalayas to the pillars of the gods representing an unrelenting harness of death zones as the frailty of humanity is exposed to a frozen wonderland of Yetis and goblins born from the triumph over humankind-What is the sound of footsteps pattering up a mountain if there no one is around to hear them?

A new level of insanity has been reached on a terrestrial front as extreme sports professionals under the previous administration were penalized by the feds (or at least investigated) for pushing the limits of the human body, recreational activities that are interlaced with the highly addictive combination of endorphins and adrenaline in setting world records. Besides the obvious bi-products that human exertion has on the environment in the form Carbon and Methane emissions, Green New Deal Democrats are formulating a directive to fiscally tax athletes pushing the limit of the flesh and blood machine forged by millions of evolution. The model of was copied from a New Zealand measure adopted over the last give years. This flawed campaign does not include a set of current quirky and stifling laws that target the simple pursuit of excellence and mind over matter.

How does a pioneer braving the higher altitudes face the wrath of an implacable government branding itself on the promise of free will in the disingenuous celebration of the human spirit on what is recognized as federal land? While the Trump administration at least on a surface level attempts to correct the damage inflicted by failed policy over the last four years of Biden torture, probing into the construct of mandates with any discretionary research yields a portrait of the subversive and unnecessary legislation serving a purpose of an ulterior motive absent of basic liberties.

In the “unbelievable headline of the week!”-  the dreams and resilience of an endurance athlete were once again restored. In 2024 federal prosecutors went after a mountain trail runner in an egregious campaign against free will and the pursuit of passion and excellence transcending the human spirit. Allegedly, a marathon runner Michelino Sunseri scampering up the summits of the Grand Teton mountains faced the wrath of bureaucracy and the stifling nature of procedure over freedom before being exonerated for a fabricated crime of that defies the vast borders of reason or hope and caught the attention of prosecutors on all levels of the legal system.

Runnersworld.com reports that Sunseri was attempting to set a world record in a literally high-level and nearly impossible undertaking, a challenge which is even impossible for the smartphones and their younger generation of minions to emulate.

Biden’s Department of the Interior claimed that the world class athlete was in the wrong for opting to take a shortcut on a trail within Grand Teton National Park, a choice that nearly derailed his life. His decision to change course and avoid a group of hikers cost him figuratively and literally, catching the eye of park rangers on duty which led to being hamstrung by the existence of incorrigible policy, both wasteful and damaging.

Sunseri was cited for his apparent transgression of rerouting his assault to the summit and temporarily veering onto a closed trail marked for revegetation. He was sent a letter from the officials informing him that he was subject to federal prosecution for damages to the native flora of a national park which could carry a maximum sentence of 6 months in prison and hefty fines. He responded the race for his future began, morphing into a personal nightmare which included tens of thousands of dollars in obligatory legal fees, and sleepless nights of strife.

Accountability has its limitations and is vulnerable to the fragile notions of free will as illustrated by this breach of logic by Biden and cronies and the misinterpretation of reason, an affliction plaguing a certain ideology incompatible withing the current framework of the republic.

Fortunately, Sunseri chose to fight against the efforts to criminalize his supposed lack of judgement, and employed the experts from the notable private property legal firm of the Pacific Legal Foundation, a proven organization that regularly battles for the sustained preservation of property rights and the emphasis on individuality with the least amount of government interference.

Eventually, Sunseri’s legal response to his immediate fate was heard at the federal court level, and the judge determined in pure judicious fashion that the feds were clearly violating a law-abiding citizen’s civil rights by taking unmerited and unnecessary criminal action towards an individual.

In the wake of the decision, prosecutors still argued that he should receive a token fine and endure the hassle and obligations of community service. In reacting to the response of the fed’s witch hunt of a legal farce in pilfering tax-payer monies to resolve a minor matter in the scale of things, his counsel ensured that Sunseri would not be susceptible to the ridiculous reparations based on the original charges that border on insanity. Trump culminated the unsettling narrative by issuing a full pardon over a year later from when the charges were first filed in reference to the incident in the heavens of the rugged peaks of Wyoming.

As the “moral of the story” continues to accrue insufferable variations that do not involve a moral or a story, the latest addition to the gospel of societal morays created by government now includes, “never take a shortcut in a national park, as the only shortcut will be an expedited and world record pace pathway to federal prison”. The unsettling trajectory of detrimental legalism is as frail as a crudely scribbled quip on a cocktail napkin, yet the consequences for a relatively benign action are ironically as severe as a plunge into the laboratory of totalitarianism, where the elites and delusion meet in a seedy hotel room.
