WA Backlash v. Democrats Calling for ‘Early Organizing’ To Win in Nov.

Evergreen State Second Amendment activists and conservatives are reacting with sarcasm and disgust at a post on social media by Washington state Democrats which declares, “It’s never too early to start organizing! WA Dems are knocking doors across the state and gearing up to win this November. We’re building a Washington that works for everyone, not just the ultra-wealthy!”

One man replied, “Please come to my house? I would love to ask how you can be such a supporter of this state party that doesn’t respect the constitution or the vote of the citizens.”

Another wrote, “Stay away from my door. You won’t like the response.”

Under years of Democrat majority rule, Washington has adopted a string of gun control laws which have eroded Second Amendment rights, say critics. They cite the ban on so-called “assault weapons” and “large-capacity magazines.” They pushed through a measure expanding the waiting period on handguns from three to ten days, then expanded it to apply to all firearms, and removed same-day purchase ability from citizens with concealed pistol licenses.

As earlier reported by TGM, it appears thousands of Washingtonians have been fleeing to friendlier environs, and that exodus includes gun owners. Many are leaving because they are facing possible hassles beginning in May 2027 regarding applying for, or renewing, their concealed pistol licenses. Democrats last year added a training requirement, and an additional requirement to obtain a permit-to-purchase, despite the language of Article 1, Section 24 of the state constitution, which declares, “The right of the individual citizen to bear arms in defense of himself, or the state, shall not be impaired.” The firearms community considers a training requirement, which includes a live fire exercise, and the purchase permit requirement to be impairments. Gun rights organizations are gearing up for court challenges.

Many in the firearms community quietly suspect the national Republican Party, the National Rifle Association and others have simply surrendered Washington to the far left. What may change that perspective this year is the billions of dollars in new taxes and the so-called “millionaire income tax” recently signed into law could make a difference in voter turnout.
