‘Trump Opened The Door’
After decades of contention, President Donald Trump celebrated the commitment between Korean leaders Kim Jung-Un and Moon Jae-in to end the war between North and South Korea:
“KOREAN WAR TO END!” Trump said. His comments followed an agreement in which both North and South Korea, according to CNN, agreed to denuclearize the peninsula after decades of tension.
Kim and Moon leave behind a feeling of promise and positivity that hasn’t been felt on the Korean Peninsula for years. Along with a promise to finally end the war which has hung like a cloud over this part of the world for 65 years, the agreement they signed will see increased communication and cooperation going forward.

Both North Korean president Kim Jong Un and South Korean president Moon Jae-in shook hands and Kim became the first North Korean leader to cross the border since the end of the war in 1953.
“The United States, and all of its GREAT people, should be very proud of what is now taking place in Korea!” Trump said. He also seemed to credit China with the nation’s progress:
Since Trump took office, his administration has undertaken an aggressive campaign to counter Kim and pressure him into denuclearization. With the international community, it has applied strict sanctions multiple times and attempted to punish North Korea for its nuclear testing.
