The Beat Drones “On”

December 29, 2017 By Conn Williamson

It has finally come to this. Out of the thousands of productive uses for drones, a California couple just had to go tarnish the reputation of legitimate UAV operators by modifying their aircraft to be a courier grade delivery mechanism in the dangerous world of illegal drug trafficking.

With the narco Mexican states within proximity of the most populated state in the US, and the looming imprint of the Cartel in full operational control of the flow of opiods through the shrubs and sand of the Inland Empire and into the welcoming cul-de-sacs and societal fabric of middle class neighborhoods, opportunity is ripe for addicts and dealers to fill the lucrative supply chain.

Fox News shares the appalling and true tale about the arrest and detainment of two adults, for their participation in the delivery of controlled substances through the drone-friendly skies, that would even make Amazon blush.

The operation was eloquent. Drugs were to delivered to various localities, as recipients tossed cash over the couple’s fence. The most heinous part of the twisted plot, is that Riverside Police discovered a 9-year-old girl caught up in the backwash of the reckless and illegal behavior of the pair of perps.

Allegedly, authorities raided the residential rat’s nest home base of the aerial narcotics operation and found the child surrounded by an array of toxic and unsafe drug paraphernalia and filth. Fortunately, the minor was released to the custody of what are hopefully more sensible family members.

As for the innovative drone drug bandits, the state will be content to house them as long term residents, and the community is thankful that the scumbags are no longer threats posing as neighbors.

While the known exports of California are entertainment, crops and government policy which borders on insanity, creative methods of perpetually stocking the shelves of the drug trade, needs to be added to the list.

In the past, smugglers in the Golden state, have utilized baby carriages, surfboards, soccer balls, and board games to transport narcotics. Now that drones are viability and airspace is virtually unregulated, the sky is the limit.
