Media Pushing to Unearth Unsavory Facts about MI Shooter’s Parents

December 7, 2021 By Dave Workman

In the week since 15-year-old Ethan Crumbley allegedly opened fire at Michigan’s Oxford High School in Oakland County, and only days after his parents—James and Jennifer—were taken into custody while hiding out in a Detroit-area warehouse, the media has been digging up whatever it could on the family, including anything into which they could bring former President Donald Trump.

Newsweek hit that goal Monday with an article headlined “Oxford High Shooter’s Mother Praised Trump Over Gun Rights, Complained About Immigrants,” almost as if to link this crime in some way to Trump, whom the establishment media seems to universally hate.

“In particular,” Newsweek’s Thomas Kika reported, “a blog run by Ethan’s mother, Jennifer Crumbley, 43, has shed light on her right-wing political views and admiration for former President Donald Trump. In a post dotted with vulgar language from 2016, obtained by MLive, Crumbley disparages ‘illegal immigrants’ and discusses her support for gun ownership. Crumbley is not named in the blog post, but her husband, James Crumbley, 45, shared it to Facebook and attributed it to her.”

The MLive entry was from the Tribune News Service. It did an extensive background on the Crumbleys, unearthing James’ problems with child support to two different women, both in Duval County, Fla.

Part of the story focused on Jennifer, alluding to the blog post. It noted her appreciation for “Trump’s support for weapons.”

What Trump has supported is the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

“As a female and a Realtor,” she reportedly wrote, “thank you for allowing my right to bear arms. Allowing me to be protected if I show a home to someone with bad intentions. Thank you for respecting that Amendment.”

James and Jennifer Crumbley have each been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter. James allegedly bought a 9mm Sig Sauer pistol which social media posts indicate was a Christmas present for the teen. The pistol was allegedly stored in an unlocked drawer in the Crumbley’s bedroom.

Ethan Crumbley is believed to have had that pistol in his backpack on the morning of the shooting when he and his parents met with school counselors about alarming behavior by the student prior to the rampage. Four students were killed, and seven other people including one adult were wounded.
