ChatGPT And Drones- When The Dog Walks The Owner

July 12, 2023 By Kennedy Guse

The confines of the universe encapsulating the Dog Mom movement and cultural phenomenon of population depletion in North America, illustrate the mutualistic relationship between the pet and the owner, a curious dynamic that is emulated within the software realm. As the metaphor of a programmed, and in this case, a brainwashed surrender to the commands of what are referred to as fur babies, the relationship parallels a duality of computer programs unleashed unsupervised in the digital ecosystem.

While electronic innovators have all but exhausted the capabilities of first generation drones available commercially, ChatGPT and other perceived AI tools will soon be integrated into the framework of self-flying vehicles. And the skies will never be the same amid the concoction of the reckless and the unknown.

As nuances remain a forgotten compartment of functionality, the industrialized and programmed artificial response to random stimuli is still hundreds of millions of years away from even existing at a 90% efficiency rate. Unfortunately, the flesh and blood of humanity are still the premium in split-second decision making skills in averting a preventable travesty and not succumbing to the cold-hearted and callous tendencies of machine learning. However, the enthusiasm and excitement of compartmentalizing fate remains the abstract goal of venture capital funded projects that in their very essence are branded to automate society with every fraction of Bitcoin counted and applied in attempting to hurdle the expansive chasm of what is perceived as a world hindered by an innovative cul-de-sac.

With software just on the horizon of programming itself, the idea that a powerful database such as ChatGPT can perform DIY functions in calibrating various gadgetry both begins and ends with the design drone device, a metaphor for hardware is conducive to a constant stream of instructional data and feedback. The veritable leash in walking the electronic Pug into various coordinated missions only scratches the surface level on applications into furthering hardware on all levels, as the AI’s salivate through pixilation as to calibrating Tesla and other self-driving vehicles into accomplishing tasks that have not yet been dreamed of. As system dynamics continue to grow in functionability and complexity, the increased amount of electronic parts leaves technology vulnerable to overengineering, which in many cases, renders a tool useless.

The prime example of “more is less” is of course the attempts to perfect a smartgun, where fingerprints or bio-tracers are required to activate the firing mechanism. As a mechanicalized trigger array is a time-tested example of reliability, a failure rate of above a percentage point is not an acceptable performance record in an individual facing a life and death situation.

However, the potential ChatGPT- drone duality is beneficial in that information is being shared from both interfaces, and harvesting and extrapolating real-time data is crucial for research and forwarding innovation. Other than acting as an antenna array of alerting any alien intelligence to humanity’s existence and  unfortunately Al Gore’s pontifications within a few parsecs of earth, new veins of ingenuity are possible if logical parameters are established, and then the sky is literally the limit.  This positive result of science fiction colliding with technological capabilities cannot be overlooked, but has to to be taken with a proverbial grain of salt due to the circumstances.

As the Information age progresses from the funeral pyre of the Curies and the threat of global thermonuclear war, the subsequent chaos is at least organized in a categorical sense, as databases have evolved to a point where data is structured and allows for the onset of AI and machine learning existing within the collective conscience. Whoever is walking whoever or vise versa is still the pertinent riddle and conundrum in sorting out the complicated relationship between master and pet.
