A new Rasmussen poll contains a stunning revelation which may—or may not, depending upon one’s politics—alarm major news organizations which 43 percent of likely voters, according to the polling firm, say are hostile to President Donald Trump.

The survey results, released Wednesday, say 42 percent of respondents give the media’s coverage of the president a “poor rating.” On the other hand, 32 percent of likely voters “rate the quality of news media coverage of the Trump administration as good or excellent – down from 35% in August.”

Many conservatives believe the major networks, including some cable networks, are decidedly biased against the president.

The survey of 1,122 U.S. Likely Voters was conducted on Jan. 4-6 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

According to Rasmussen, “Among voters who consider the media’s coverage of the Trump administration to be excellent, most believe national news media organizations are either friendly (26%) or neutral and objective (31%) in their coverage of Trump. But among those who rate media coverage as poor, 58% say most news organizations are hostile to Trump.”

On the subject of quality, Rasmussen found that 41 percent of Republicans, 28 percent of Democrats and 27 percent of Independents believe coverage of the president is “good or excellent.” At the same time, 20 percent of Democrats, 13 percent of Republicans and 15 percent of Independents say most national news organizations are friendly to Trump.

However, “64% of Republicans, 24% of Democrats and 42% of unaffiliated voters say most media are hostile to Trump. Forty-three percent (43%) of Democrats, 17% of Republicans and 30% of unaffiliated voters view most national news media organizations as being neutral and objective in their coverage of Trump.”

Forty-three percent (43%) of Democrats, 17% of Republicans and 30% of unaffiliated voters view most national news media organizations as being neutral and objective in their coverage of Trump, the Rasmussen poll revealed.
