For the second time in a decade, the e-scooters have descended from the sky like a thunderstorm of rain and hail.
With something out of a Simpson’s network animated script and episode, the writing for the legacy television series exists as what can be described as rudimentary decadent in a predictive and soothsaying utility.
The insanity marinates as logic fries in the electric chair of the entitled peanut gallery. Getting from point A to point B as become unmercifully complicated.
An alien tech invasion has commenced in cities and neighborhoods, or convened with all the subtlety of a late night infomercial pawning the legacy of George Forman’s culinary expertise off to viewers which may or may not have spawned a nationwide bacon fetish and subsequent addiction to the cured pork. And sensibility hangs in the balance of the rider being able to operate a battery powered motorized scooter for a premium with the hear future of society at stake.
Cue the swarms of “Lime” brand battery powered scooters strewn at every major arterial and streetcorner as the alternative mode of transportation threatens to defund the current public transportation infrastructure in favor of the illogical obsession with conformity and a putrid display of performance art that encourages acts of public desecration. The parent company of Lime which may or not be aligned with certain factions of big tech is known for the flash mob style of intrepid and aggressive marketing as the vehicles available to end-users who have the smart phone app in a pay for play situation are magically appearing or reappearing on street corners throughout the Seattle area. This epidemic is not simply contained to the Pacific Northwest as other municipalities across the nation in effectively executing a ponzi scheme of essentially publicly littering with millions of dollars at stake.
The scooters are appearing from the heights and descending and the gig economy is transcendent and slaying any opposition to commonsense or a sustainable business model that does not require a cash infusion from the nanny state of government. Once again, Seattle is making headlines that supersedes the legacy of the CHAZ/CHOP zone representing a stumbling and fumbling model of failed diplomacy as the passively aggressive mean streets of the city and suburbs are a work in progress for a perpetual garbage dump of a service that is virtually neglected.
Apparently, Lime and its aggressive tactics is subsidized by local governments in providing an alternative mode of transportation that adheres to environmental standards despite the controversial toxic disposal double standards once the batteries of the devices have reached their shelf life. The symbiotic trade-off is that absent from the battery debacle is that Lime is funded by grants awarded to cities leading to citizens facing the pain of enduring random scooters polluting sidewalks and neighborhoods that will never be used and strewn throughout the expanse of communities.
While the costs do not outweigh the rewards, idealists can live in the moment that their gestures of sanctimony and grandeur create the ultimate mural of civic art that would not even be permissible within the context of the Sim City real life computer game and the pretext of crony Capitalism warping the nuances of urban planning and the sanctity of community.
The scooters have descended in the absence of commonsense and accountability.
