A 17-year-old Indiana girl displayed both wits and bravery Wednesday, by grabbing a gun out of her mom’s room and yelling at man attempting to enter the family’s home. According to Fox 59, the girl’s mom had just left for the grocery store, and the suspect began lurking on the property. No shots were fired and the man was able to escape. The incident occurred in the Indianapolis suburb of Franklin Township.

“I stayed back here and I started yelling ‘I’m here. I have a gun. I’m going to shoot,’” she said.
Faith called for help and waited. She said she heard rustling in the garage and the man took off in a white van.”
