As the jousting between elected officials (in the the loosest of terms), politics in Seattle is not contained within the confines of a Maoist Pickleball court with side of Deng.
The oscillating dynamics read like a daily events schedule at a nudist camp in the absence of historical precedence and unrelenting moral superiority that threatens even the thought police of the demonstrative and the surrender of modesty.
The themes in the new capital of Liberalism are caught in a circuitous illogical loop- the Mayor and the city council are at odds, the Mayor and the city council pine for each other in romantic and orgiastic fashion, and finally nobody cares and hence a renaissance of peace and progress.
Recently, newly elected Mayor Katie Wilson once again made viral headlines in her incestuous support of the state of Washington millionaire tax signed-into law by demagogue Governor Bob Ferguson. The political newbie has been heavily criticized from both sides of the political ledger for overall lack of experience in serving the public and the handling complex issues. Wilson’s endorsement of the measure received a harsh retort from former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz, as the mammoth company is in the process of moving its corporate headquarters to the tax haven in Tennessee. Schultz is at the forefront of an impressive and growing list of business dignitaries and leftist politicians criticizing the mayor including members of the city council according the Seattle Times and other left-leaning news syndicates. Apparently, enough is enough when hardcore leftists are attacking and ridiculing on of their own. On a micro level, Amazon is showing signs of an exit strategy from Seattle city limits, which may indicate another corporation opting for a more business friendly ecosystem.
Seattle previously set an awful precedent, as Boeing chose to move corporate operations to Chicago in 2001.
What this current sordid scenario and concrete example indicate is that reality for selected elected officials is fleeting and accountability is a dish served cold. The lack of transparency in government is not yet an alternative to justification and the overall framework of governance. Bureaucracy is merely a solvent of utility for the sake of forgiveness at least not on a personal level.
While the current trajectory of businesses in blue states to relocate operations and logistics in the aftermath of logarithmic tax increases, those citizens who choose to remain behind the borders of an anti-capitalistic wall and environment are at the mercy of a free market being deteriorated by draconian policy. It has become a common theme in Liberal cities that puppets are being gifted positions of power and as a result commonsense hangs in the balance and the overall quality of life decreases. As the math is quite simple, the formula of the stranglehold of Democratic on preventing citizens from exercising basic rights equates to a potential dystopia in the making.
Karen or Katie, or Katie or Karen, the nuisance of the neighborhood simply exists as an inconsequential figurehead in a political chess match where there are few winners and the remaining players fight for the scraps of dignity after the feast and the sensibility. The depressing narrative is that the residents are stuck with her for at least another four years as the urban center continues to slide into an abyss.
