VIDEO: Elderly Couple Swept Away By Wave…Saved By Bystander

November 8, 2017 By Lilly Trevelyan

A retired couple was swept away by the waves caused by the storm on the Brittany Coast (France).

They were saved by a passer-by, Olivier Lou who ran to help them. The storm had caused winds of up to 86 mph and 16 ft waves.

Oliver Lou was wearing the fluorescent yellow jacket when the incident occurred and was being filmed at the beach by a friend.

This is a salutary lesson of how dangerous the sea can be in stormy weather.  Whipped up by wind and tide, the breaking waves are awesomely powerful and can sweep beach goers  away like flotsam.  This couple was extremely lucky.  Take a look.
