While a lot of attention this week in Las Vegas has been paid to the SHOT Show, a show that is prominently featured in several articles here at Liberty Park Press, a big piece of news this morning will likely take the annual firearms trade gathering off the local news cycle in the desert, and it’s something we’ve reported on in the past here on this site.
Clark County, Nev., Commissioner Steve Sisolak announced on Twitter a short time ago, an announcement which has now been confirmed by the National Football League according to ESPN and other media outlets, that the Oakland Raiders have officially filed for relocation to Sin City.
Last August, we here reported on the Raiders’ interest in moving to Las Vegas to escape a crumbling stadium in Oakland that has no sign of being replaced any time soon. Well, a plan has developed since then that would, if all of this gets approved, see the team play at a proposed stadium near the Strip.
Owners are likely to vote on relocation of the team later this year, and it has been reported a number of them are warming to the idea of putting a team in the desert, if for no other reason than it will help them make more money. Yes, more money. As if many of them needed any more already.
