Mother Nature sure inflicts some cruel paradoxes on the human race, especially towards men. While males have to deal with the reality that the longer the lifespan, the better the chance of being diagnosed with prostate cancer, now the gym rats of the world may face the possibility of trading superior physical health and strength for deteriorating vision with age.
So you are a workout junky and your eyes will eventually pop out as a result?
The New York Times reports that a study of over 211,000 men and women shows that male participants who engaged in regular intense exercise, may be 54% more likely chance to face vision issues, than their less active counterparts. Through the net results are startling, there is absolutely no logical or physiological correlation that links the grand exploits of stringent physical activity to detrimental health effects, and the results have left researchers searching for answers. The authors of the study have released a disclaimer stating that the data processed was compiled from self-reports of the respondents, rather than observable results, a truth that may skew the actual findings of the project.
In other words, keep the workouts long and intense and hope that medical research yields a magical solution within the next three decades.
