Gun-Rights Group Cites Rising London Murder Rate as Example of Failed Gun Control

According to the BBC, “the UK has some of the toughest gun control laws in the world.”
A widespread “knife epidemic” continues to sweep across the United Kingdom this week, where a spat of deadly stabbings has brought London’s murder rate soaring over 44% from the same period last year.
According to the Daily Mail, overall knife violence is up across Britain by 22% and a stunning 44% across the UK’s largest metropolis; with more than 150 dead and countless more injured in separate attacks.
“The stats were released amid growing concern at the spiraling number of deadly attacks on the capital’s streets, with more than 60 people killed since the start of 2018,” writes the Mail. “Offenses involving firearms were up, by 11% to 6,604 recorded crimes.”
“These statistics show once again that crime, and violent crime in particular, is rising at an unacceptably high rate across the whole of England and Wales, including London,” said London Mayor Sadiq Khan.
Earlier this month, the mayor of the UK’s largest city simply blamed the escalating violence on “budget cuts.”
