James Clapper Lied About Leaking Dossier To CNN
Barack Obama’s former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper intentionally leaked sensitive details about the ‘Trump Dossier’ to CNN and misled Congress about the issue, says a scathing new report.
A newly declassified report on Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. elections reveals that former Chief of U.S. intelligence James Clapper lied to Congress about information he shared with CNN regarding Clinton’s now infamous Steele dossier.
According to Hannity.com:
A recent report released by the House Intelligence Committee reveals that Clapper intentionally leaked the now-debunked ‘Trump Dossier’ to CNN’s Jake Tapper and possibly lied to Congress about the revelation.
As reported by the Federalist, “Clapper not only leaked information about the infamous Steele dossier and high-level government briefings about it to CNN, he also may have lied to Congress about the matter.”
“Clapper flatly denied ‘discussing[ing] the dossier [compiled by Steele] or any other intelligence related to Russia hacking of the 2016 election with journalists,’” said the House’s report.
“Clapper’s discussion with Tapper took place in early January 2017, around the time IC leaders briefed President Obama and President-elect Trump, on ‘the Christopher Steele information,’ a two-page summary of which was ‘enclosed in’ the highly-classified version of the ICA,” it adds.”
