How Freedom Loving Californians With AR Style Rifles Are Fighting Back

August 28, 2017 By Erik Walters

Politicians Outsmarted . . . Again!

California’s liberal lawmakers failed in their efforts to outlaw “assault rifles,” so they now focus their attention on outlawing distinctive features of AR-15s, but creative gun-owners have once again found ways around their legislation.

Earlier laws meant to crack down on detachable magazines were circumvented by the invention of the bullet button, which uses a special tool to release magazines.

New laws were then created to shut down what Mark Levine calls “the bullet button loophole,” but gun owners simply got more creative and found other ways to reload.

TheTrace.org reports:

On the same day that Governor Jerry Brown signed the new law, Darin Prince, the inventor of the original bullet button, announced the release of a gun add-on called the Patriot Mag Release, or, as he dubbed it, the “Bullet Button Reloaded.” Other companies offer similar products, such as the AR Maglock, developed in response to an assault weapons law passed in 2013 in New York State.

The mechanisms, which can be purchased online, are designed to meet legislators’ rules for detachable ammunition magazines, while still allowing shooters to blast away with minimal interruptions.

According to the federalistpaper:

Liberals are infuriated that Californians can own and operate AR-15s, and as they push for further restrictions, they make their true intentions clear.

Outlawing “assault rifles,” they claim, will make communities safer. Yet outlawing features such as the bullet button and its replacements will obviously only affect those who are willing to obey the law, something that is true for all gun regulations.

Anyone who wants to use an AR-15 to do harm to their community is not going to pay any attention to the new crackdowns. They will not be bothered by finding legal alternatives to the bullet-button.

These laws are not meant to make communities safer, they’re meant to take second amendment rights from law-abiding citizens.

From BearingArms.com:

If you ban a feature, those features will be replaced with something else.

For example, while trying to make it a pain to reload an AR-15, lawmakers sought to require shooters to need to use a tool to switch magazines. However, enterprising souls figured out how to leave the magazine release button alone by removing other features, thus completely negating the entire issue.

Gun grabbing politicians swear they will continue legislating away in a vain effort to combat this non-existent threat, and for once there’s every reason to take a politician at their word.

However, something else we can trust is that for every idiotic law they can produce, there will be some enterprising inventor that will create a product that will allow gun owners to get around such things. The free market is a wonderful thing.”
